I apologize for the rather long delay. It’s been a while since anything has been uploaded…
To kick things off, here’s stoner/doom metal band, Electric Wizard. This is probably their most acclaimed album. Expect heavy riffage and tons of Black Sabbath worship. The vocals could probably be better, but it’s not that big of a deal. What it lacks in the vocals department, it makes up with sheer noise and heaviness. Best listened to with a nice pair of headphones or speakers, and probably after smoking a joint. This is stoner metal after all.
Experienced super-alts know that vinyl is super hip, super pretty to look at and makes you seem super pretentious in front of all yr entry level alt friends. Thus, being the extremely experienced super-alt that I am (HAH), I present my newest (and final) KSCR on-air endeavor to all our loyal listeners:
That’s right — for my final semester on-air at KSCR, I’ve decided to dig deep into my extensive vinyl collection of first-press editions and put them on air for your listening pleasure.
So heads up vinyl junkies; tune in every Sunday from 6-8pm this semester to hear full album sides, various 7″ records and musical criticism and pop theorizing mumbo-jumbo right here on KSCR.
I’ll also track what albums I’ll play each day on KSCR’s Twitter. If you aren’t already, make sure to hop on the social networking bandwagon and follow us!
Often times, the expression “When In Rome” is misused by powerful celebrities like Ron Burgundy.
Well, we here at KSCR are not in the business of misinforming. Instead, we have Red Carpet Tickets for the Disney movie, “When in Rome” starring Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Veronica Mars) and Josh Duhamel (Transformers) that we’re looking to give away!
Trailer:
The Premiere is on Wednesday, January 27th at 7:00pm. If anyone is interested, please respond via the blog or the KSCR Twitter with your name and e-mail address no later than Monday morning (1/25). 2pairs of tickets to the red carpet premiere (actors will be there) await for the first listeners to respond. But it doesn’t end there, there are also another 5 pairs of tickets for runner-ups for an advanced screening so hit us up!
